Bio

Becca Osborn (she/they) is a queer grief alchemist and artist-storyteller based in New York. Working primarily in ceramics and sculpture, their work imagines grief as a physical realm that we traverse alongside this one. She imagines that if grief were a place, it would look a lot like a bog. She received her MFA from Stony Brook University.

Becca recently received the Dorothy Thayer Award as an outstanding and promising graduate student in the SUNY network, and was recently part of the show "I Grieve Different" with Detox Gallery in Chelsea, NY. 

 

Becca's current research explores how queering grief allows for grief to become a landscape using queer feminist theory, decolonized psychology, and ecological studies. They are also interested in crip theory, queer and liberation theology, and stories of origin and how a person's view of time shapes the way they grieve.

In their spare time, Becca loves to read, go to museums, try new restaurants, and spend time with her partner and her calico cat, Cleo.
